Colleagues,

Registration is now open for the following Spring workshops hosted by the
AABC:

*Records Management 101*
Date: Thursday, April 27, 2023 (online)
Description: Participants will learn about the foundations of records
management and how to apply principles and best practices to the creation,
storage and use of active and semi-active records in their organization.
Topics discussed during the workshop will also include definitions and
strategies on how to classify records, using and creating records retention
schedules, identifying vital records, and how to create an action plan for
records management success! Instructor: Lisa Glandt, MAS
Registration deadline: April 25, 2023

*Copyright Basics*
Date: Tuesday, May 16, 2023 (online)
Did you know that the duration of copyright has been extended by 20 years?
Perhaps it’s time for a refresher! This one-day workshop provides an
overview of how copyright law works and presents the copyright provisions
(including relevant case law) that determine duration and ownership of
copyright and the respective rights of copyright owners and users of
copyrighted material (including fair dealing and the exceptions for
libraries, archives, and museums). This course will be of particular
interest to archivists, librarians, and museum curators who are responsible
for managing copyright in their collections, as well as users of
copyrighted content. Instructor: Jean Dryden, MA, MLS, LLM(IP), PhD
Registration deadline: May 11, 2023

Information and registration links for each workshop can be found on the
