Act II, our in-person conference in Victoria, BC in October of this year.

*Collaboration - May 4: Schedule *

*9:30am* *- Welcome to Conference*

We are grateful to be joined by Miranda Jimmy from the National Trust of
Canada who will provide both the opening and closing remarks for our
Conference.

Tune in for her opening remarks on Wednesday, May 4 at 9:30am as we kick
off three days of thought-provoking discussion and collaboration alongside
fellow museum, cultural, and heritage professionals from across the
province and beyond.

Anchor speaker Kamala Todd will follow the welcome remarks with her talk
"Weaving Our Stories Together".



Kamala, a Métis-Cree filmmaker, community planner, and Indigenous cultural
heritage specialist will share thoughts on decolonizing heritage, building
relationships and healing, with examples of her own learning and work on
Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh territories.

*11:15am - Government Partnerships & Advocacy*

This panel will look at how culture and heritage organization can build
successful partnerships with local governments and advocate for their
institutions. This panel will feature examples from big and small locales
across the province, and include provincial and municipal level
partnerships.



Hear about lessons learned from the government and non-for-profit sides of
collaborative work in conserving heritage, uplifting marginalized community
history and more.

*1:00pm - Emergency Preparedness & Resilience*

In the afternoon, we are bringing together panelists who will chat about
their own work and highlight examples of grassroots mutual aid,
community-partnered emergency preparedness plans.



Join us to take a look into what partnership and resilience looks like from
the provincial perspective and how finding partners within your community
helps your organization to become more resilient.
