(Auxiliary/Casual)*

One of the sunniest regions in BC’s Lower Mainland, Delta embraces three
unique communities – Ladner, North Delta and Tsawwassen.  The City of Delta
is looking for dedicated individuals to join our team and share in our
commitment to lead the way in public service excellence.

The City of Delta is looking for a dynamic and professional individual to
fill a front line position that will greet and welcome guests and
volunteers at the Discovery Centre.

*Responsibilities include:*

   - Greeting and welcoming guests to the Discovery Centre; communicating
   with and supporting volunteers; and explaining the facility and how to
   engage with the physical artifacts and digital components.
   - Performing reception duties, such as answering telephones, responding
   to e-mails, and visitor and exhibitor inquiries; and opens and closes the
   facility.
   - Promoting self-guided tours; leading school and public programs;
   sourcing content from exhibitors; and assisting in facility, exhibit and
   program promotions.
   - Assist and monitor exhibit set up and take down; performing minor
   janitorial maintenance such as cleaning displays, display cases, and
   electronic components; and maintaining the cleanliness of the archives and
   vault.
   -  Assist with special events, including planning and preparation, set
   up and take down; provides input to program planning and development;
   assists in the preparation and types promotional material; photocopies
   materials for distribution and ensures adequate stock of supplies.
   - Processing and digitizing collection items; and packing and unpacking
   artifacts.
   - Performs related work as required.

*Candidates must have the following certifications:*

   - Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence for the Province of British Columbia
   - First Aid Certificate
   - CPR Level C
   - AED (Automated External Defibrillator) Training Certificate

Completion of Grade 12, supplemented by courses related to arts, culture
and heritage and some related experience working in a recreational or
cultural services setting; or an equivalent combination of training and
experience.

The City of Delta provides a competitive salary of $22.98 - $26.87 per hour
plus 12% in lieu of benefits. Interested applicants are requested to apply
