[BCMA] Possible Projector Part?

It’s a loader for a slide projector. I’m not sure if it for manually inserting at 35mm slide, or if a spring loaded magazine might feed in, and deposit the viewed slide in a separate hopper.

Good afternoon everyone,
This item has been a question mark for a while here. To me it looks like a piece of a projector but I'm not 100% sure. This is D but A, B, and C have not been located as of yet. The description in our database is also not very clear; "One box marked compacts. Containing one metal instrument and instructions for safety."
The red knob can move and is connected to the black piece, to cover the square opening. If anyone has any leads or ideas as to what this might be or what it might be a part of I would really appreciate it.
