[BCMA] Heaters

Hello Rebecca,

Here at HAMM we also are in a heritage wooden structure with no HVAC; not even electric baseboards.  We have very little if any insulation in our walls and absolutely zero insulation in our ceiling/roof.  We bake in the summer and freeze in the winter.

This year we have moved from stand up portable electric heaters which pivot to the radiant heaters that look like a round cooling fan.  We’ve only had them turned on for the past week but already we have noticed an increase in “cool comfort” without the fear of the rotating heating fans causing some problem. We just had to make sure we had them spaced out so as not to pull too much power through each electric circuit and they are away from all display/fixture/walls pointing into the main body of the aisle or larger space.  Got them from Costco for about $89 each. And what is even nicer…they are silent. 

We have simply closed on days when it is just too cold to work even with the older heaters on.  Same for when HAMM reaches 35C in the summer. It will be interesting to see how this winter fairs up to previous cold spells.
