The AABC/YCA Joint Conference is almost here! Registration for the
pre-conference workshop and conference will close this week. Please note
the following registration deadlines below.

*Workshop "Archives 101: Archival Practice for Indigenous
Organizations"; Oct 22 & Oct 25, 2021 (1:00-4:30pm PST)*
Registration deadline: Monday, Oct 18 (5:00pm PST)

This workshop will be of interest to Tribal/First Nations Government
administrators, archivists, Indigenous community members or cultural memory
keepers, students, or anyone working in the field of archival or heritage
practice. Split over 2 online Zoom sessions, “Archives 101: Archival
Practice for Indigenous Organizations” will provide participants with an
introduction to archival theory and best practices that they will be able
to use on a daily basis. Workshop participants will learn how to create a
solid foundation for developing their archives program and learn about the
appraisal and practical management of archival records and cultural
knowledge. They will learn how to process and provide access to records
created on different media formats (textual records, audio-visual, sound
recordings and electronic records). Workshop discussion will also include
best practices for disaster planning and archival resources and funding
opportunities available for Indigenous organizations.

This workshop is being offered in conjunction with the AABC/YCA Joint
conference. You can choose to register for the workshop only or join us for
both the workshop and conference on Oct 26 & 27!

Workshop registration: $150.00 CAD for AABC/YCA members; $180.00 non-members

colleagues throughout BC, Yukon, Alberta, and Manitoba as we explore the
many journeys and experiences of archivists, recordkeepers, and other
information professionals in preserving, accessing, sharing and celebrating
