BCMA is searching for a driven and socially-conscious individual to join
our team as Development Assistant

Reporting to the Executive Director and the Development Manager, the
Development Assistant will support existing staff in the creation and
implementation of strategies to ensure the organization’s long-term
sustainability and growth.

We are looking for a candidate that brings a passion for BC’s cultural
sector, enjoys making new connections, and has experience with technology
and new media.

About the role

The candidate will work remotely as part of a small, passionate team and a
large provincial network of members, stakeholders, partners, and
volunteers. We offer a creative, inclusive, and flexible work environment
and the chance to make a difference in a community dedicated to supporting
BC’s museums, art galleries, Indigenous cultural centres, historic sites,
and heritage institutions.

The Development Assistant’s primary responsibilities will include:
supporting and improving fundraising efforts, drafting proposals, building
and maintaining tracking records and databases, researching and engaging
with potential donors and corporate sponsors/partners, creating digital
outreach materials and strategies, and promoting the organization’s mission
and values to external stakeholders.

The right candidate will have the opportunity to gain skills in project
planning and budgeting, grant writing and reporting, sponsor and donor
relations, digital communications, and will be involved in helping the BCMA
create new standards and systems for engaging with stakeholders.

Due to the funding for this position, applicants must meet the following
criteria:

   - Be registered as a student at a recognized Canadian post-secondary
   institution
   - Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee
   protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection
   Act. International students are NOT eligible for this position.

Work environment and compensation

Work Week: Monday – Friday (35 hours per week). Flexible scheduling may be
possible.

$21 hr, plus statutory benefits.

This position begins on January 1, 2022 and continues until April 30, 2022.

To help protect the health of our team during the COVID-19 pandemic, BCMA
staff are working remotely for the foreseeable future. We welcome
