Digital Detectives: Scavenger Hunt launches in the Cultural District

May 27, 2021 - Kelowna, BC: Every Thursday in June, the Okanagan Heritage Museum, Kelowna Art Gallery, and Rotary Centre for the Arts invite individuals and teams to tackle a self-guided Scavenger Hunt that will take participants on a fun and exploratory journey through these three spaces. Plus, those taking part will have a chance to take home awesome prizes.

"Enjoy our immersive spaces in a different way: with our digital scavenger hunt," says Jen Garner, Head of Programming at the Okanagan Heritage Museum "This experience will have you exploring three different cultural buildings, answering trivia, completing challenges, and maybe even having a lighthearted competition with your family members".

The activity is free and suitable for the whole family, as all three cultural centres are open late. Those interested in taking on the challenge will need to first download the free Actionbound mobile app at en.actionbound.com<https://en.actionbound.com/>.

QR codes at the Gallery, Museum, and RCA will help get people started. Throughout the hunt, participants will be directed to find various artifacts and artworks, while tackling challenges, answering fun questions, snapping photos, and just generally diving into an exploration of the exhibits.

"Thursday evenings are a great time to spend in the Cultural District," says Nataley Nagy, Executive Director at the Kelowna Art Gallery. "With the longer days, warmer weather, and our extended hours - it checks all the right boxes for friends and families to get out of the house together on a cultural adventure."

More information about the Scavenger Hunt can be found on any of the three participating organizations' websites.

The Okanagan Heritage Museum is located at 470 Queensway Avenue, the Rotary Centre for the Arts is at 421 Cawston Ave, and the Kelowna Art Gallery is at 1315 Water Street. They all can be found nestled in the Cultural District, in the heart of downtown Kelowna.
