*Request for Proposals: kp'itl'els/Brilliant Flats Heritage Conservation
Management Plan*



The Heritage Branch requests proposals for the development of a Heritage
Conservation Management Plan to guide the Ministry of Forests, Lands,
Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development (FLNRORD), as the land
manager, in ensuring the conservation, stewardship, and management of the
many values of the cultural landscape at kp'itl'els/Brilliant Flats, located
at the confluence of the Kootenay and Columbia Rivers near Castlegar. The
development of the Heritage Conservation Management Plan will be based on
an in-depth understanding of the heritage values of the place, including
its significance to Indigenous Peoples, local communities, and other
stakeholders. The work will reflect an understanding of and respect for
both intangible and physical elements of the site, including oral history,
landscape features, and archaeological resources.
