Keynote Announced for September Conference!

The Alberta Museums Association (AMA) is excited to announce Dr. Kisha Supernant, Director of the Institute of Prairie and Indigenous Archaeology at the University of Alberta, as the keynote speaker for our September Event in the 2021 Conference Series!

About the Keynote

In her keynote, "Being a Good Relation<https://museums.ab.ca/what-we-do/annual-conference/2021-conference-series/september-event-program/keynote.aspx>," Dr. Supernant will speak to the Truth and Reconciliation (TRC) Calls to Action and United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) to discuss how the heritage sector can respond in meaningful ways and with the direction of Indigenous communities.

Addressing the Conference's guiding pillar of Reconciliation, Dr. Supernant's keynote and moderated Q & A will open our September Event with a discussion of the opportunities heritage professionals have to learn to be a good relation to Indigenous peoples as Canada moves to implement UNDRIP.
